Question 1

How does Retraining the Village impact the San Francisco Bay Area community?

Accepted Answer

We provide a critical bridge between homelessness and permanent housing in the Bay Area, specifically East Palo Alto and the surrounding regions. By offering licensed residential treatment and job training, we reduce recidivism and help justice-involved individuals reintegrate into society as productive citizens.

Question 2

Are donations to Retraining the Village tax-deductible?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Retraining the Village is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All monetary donations, corporate sponsorships, and in-kind gifts are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We also hold a GuideStar Gold Seal of Transparency.

Question 3

How can corporate partners in Silicon Valley get involved?

Accepted Answer

Corporate partners can drive meaningful social impact by sponsoring a bed, funding our ComputerLit job training programs, or organizing volunteer 'Together Tuesday' events. We partner with leading brands like Google, Oracle, and Salesforce to create tangible pathways to employment.

Question 4

What makes your licensed residential treatment program unique?

Accepted Answer

Unlike standard transitional housing, we offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that includes integrated behavioral health, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment, and life-skills training. Our clients don't just get a bed; they receive a structured roadmap to long-term independence.

Question 5

How are donor funds used to support justice-involved individuals?

Accepted Answer

Funds directly support our residential facilities, providing safe housing, meals, counseling services, and educational materials. A $1,500 donation, for example, can sponsor a bed and full wraparound services for a client for an entire month.
